Can be used for both land and water incident reports.
The driver of the vehicle is responsible for the safety of their passengers and other road users, and as such needs to be held accountable for unacceptable use of that vehicle!
With the possibility of having the incident recorded by other motorists or even bystanders, there may be a greater degree of restraint by would-be offenders and just maybe the application of a little common sense.
Once offenders realise they may be reported by other drivers, pedestrians or even onlookers, and have their details and poor behaviour placed on a Central database for all to see, they may develop some restraint and modify their behaviour, making it a much safer place for everyone.
With the number of Police Officers we currently have to patrol our vast network of roads and waterways these days, they can only do so much to curb the ongoing blatant disregard for the rules and their fellow drivers, so taking the time to collect and store the incidents on the Central Database may go a long way to reducing the workload for our Police.
It is NOT the intention of Dobadriver to replace or negate the efforts of our Police Force, but rather to assist them by providing a seperate mechanism of reporting.
Should you have occasion to report such an incident, and with safety in mind, please gather the information as close to the event time as possible and transfer the details to the Make a Report form facility from the Menu area above.
Remember - If the incident isn't recorded, then each time that person re-offends, it is just considered to be the first time they have done that. If someone is injured or killed in the future by their actions then the excuse is ' I've never done anything like this before!' (and in the scheme of things...officially they haven't) and the incident may go unpunished .... once again the victim and their families lose!
Important note: Only submit this report if you are 100% sure of the accuracy of the details and please do not falsely report a driving incident. It would be extremely difficult to prove the accuracy of the reported incident without actual proof therefore the information is provided for statistical and/or research purposes.
Please Note:
It is not the intention of Dobadriver to instigate the dragging of individuals through the legal system, but rather to allow the general public a vehicle for recording events which would otherwise go un-noticed and unrecorded, hopefully giving rise to some basic form of deterrent together with a sufficient dose of common sense thereby making Australia safe for all.
Some have expressed concern relating to the entry of vindictive and totally false reports, and although this may happen as it does with most well-intentioned systems, the majority of people just wish to make known that unacceptable behaviour has occurred and needs to be reported. Would-be offenders usually have been able to get away with the offence without consequence, until now!
The greater majority of the general public should not have any reason for concern as they do have due consideration and respect for others, but unfortunately, some in our community do not, so please take the time to record the incidents so they may be held accountable for their actions. Inconsiderate and poor drivers will begin to accumulate multiple reports against them from various sources and locations and it will be easily viewable from the search engine reports.
Personal details associated with the incidents will not to be made available to the general public, so there can be no repercussions for the individual making the report given they are not made falsely.
Incidents reported to Dobadriver are passed through to the site without 3rd party involvement which means users basically have a notepad for jotting down their information for everyone else to view.
DISCLAIMER: This Web Site was set up for the use of ALL drivers throughout Australia so they may express their anger and frustration in a safer and more effective manner whenever they encounter inappropriate behavior on our roads and waterways. The information gathered is for statistical and/or research purposes and may be used as a statistical barometer for road and water incidents. Use of the search facility is basic and intended as a way of allowing all to see the kinds of behaviour some of our fellow drivers engage in. Due to the fact that this database is open to the general public for entering incident reports, Dobadriver.com shall not be held responsible or liable for incorrect or malicious entries. As it would be extremely difficult to prove the accuracy of the reported incident without actual proof, the information is hereby provided as statistical and/or research material.
