Thank you to all who have taken the time and effort to record their experiences for others to see....... hopefully others may change their poor driving behaviour as a result              Remember the 'Golden Rule'... Do unto others as you would have them do unto you (i.e.  treat others the same way you would like to be treated)       Always drive according to conditions.                 Driving with your lights on makes it a safer trip for everyone.                     Courtesy towards other drivers is a sensible way to improve road safety for you and your passengers!                       Hooning, like drink driving is a dangerous activity for the hooner and spectators alike, not to mention innocent bystanders.                                 Doing the right thing is the Aussie way!                            If your actions are intimidating to others then you are no different to the schoolyard bully, and that is just not on!                              Isn't it amazing that those with the least driving experience are the ones involved in  hooning and street racing!                          You as the driver have a responsibility to yourself and your passengers to  drive in a safe and courteous manner.                                                   Hooning supports the saying 'a little knowledge is dangerous' !

Thankfully the majority of drivers are courteous and considerate, so you may even wish to recognise them by using the 'Good driving behaviour (congratulations)'    incident report.

Although you should report 'Suspicious behaviour' to the appropriate authorities, it may be beneficial to store the information here as a backup.      

The information may be helpful to investigators chasing abductions, lost persons, would-be terrorists, escapees etc........

Tip

Have your passenger take a photo of the offending vehicle with a phone or  camera and then use the picture as information when reporting to Dobadriver.  This would assist greatly in the information gathering process.

It is not the intention of Dob-a-Driver to use the gathered data for purposes other than enlightening Australia as to what occurs on our roads and waterways to the detriment of others, although whoever has access to the Internet is able to view the report information.

• Employers (both existing and future)

• Mothers

• Fathers

• Etc. etc.

We are sure that the greater majority would be more than comfortable with the concept and objective.

When a person's actions have a negative impact on others, it is generally considered  to be unacceptable!

Generally speaking  

We all complain from time to

time about the restrictions placed on us by authorities, which may take the form of regulations, signage or directives in general,  and as a rule don't like to be told what to do...... but most of us  also realise and understand that these restrictions are a necessary requirement to provide a safe environment for everyone.

  Unacceptable behaviour  is -

• That which places others needlessly in harms way.

• Where the behaviour adversely affects others.

• Where the driving behaviour is considered to be unsafe.

• Where the behaviour is considered unacceptable.

• Behaviour which leads to Road Rage.

Hoons may have some luck avoiding the Police, but they won't be able to avoid that onlooker or local resident looking out of their window taking down the vehicle's details with the intention of reporting it to 'Dob-a-Driver'.......  the driver of the vehicle is responsible for the safety of all within that vehicle as well as the consequences of their actions on others!

Even the considerate have off days.

From time to time we all tend to do silly things  we wish we hadn't, and hopefully they have not been serious enough to have done harm to ourselves or others,  but there are some who either don't realise they are being dangerous by their actions and there are others who really don't care about the consequences of their actions.
When reporting events to 'Dobadriver', it is the latter more serious ones which are definately worth making the effort to include as they should not go un-noticed.
Even though we are able to  report any incident which we feel noteworthy, we shouldn't become too petty here, instead reserving the database for those incidents which adversely affect others safety and are generally considered unacceptable within our society.   This is not to say that this database is unable to accommodate every incident imaginable, it is, but is more about not letting petty events get us down and change our quality of life.   Some example incidents here.

Have  you  ever  wanted  to  give an inconsiderate  or reckless driver a piece of your mind but thought it too provoking or possibly a waste of time?

 Do you feel that it would most probably have little or no effect anyway, as these drivers do not have the same regard for others as you, or the natural ability you possess to ' do the right thing '?

Well..... here's your chance to report those offenders in such  a   way that  while  they continue  to  repeatedly commit these  offences, they are having a database of their actions accumulating against them.

There are drivers who are totally oblivious to the fact they are repeatedly breaking the rules, and then there are those who just don't care one way or the other.

When the Police arrive they aren't committing an offence, or have left the scene, so the incidents need to be recorded  as they occur, and this is where Dobadriver provides a system of keeping track of those events.

It appears to be evident from the statistics shown in Dobadriver that  'Speeding' may be perceived by others as less of a  problem than  'Dangerous Driving'  whereby the act of driving dangerously by some is more of a concern.   Speeding is still a concern though due to a greater degree of damage and injury  at the higher than indicated road speeds.
